
Tastes amazing with Dosa, Idli, Uttappam, Menapa Rotti, Paniriyam.
This is my mother’s recipe which everyone raves about. My younger son just loves to have it with Menapa Rotti/ Idli/Dosa. Spicy and Tangy flavour of this chutney is irresistible.
Ingredients:
- 5 to 6 medium sized tomatoes
- 2 tbsp urad dal
- 4-5 green chillies
- 1 tbsp jeera
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 whole red chillies
- 2 tbsp of oil
- 1 tbsp of tamarind pulp
- Salt according to taste
Tempering :
- 3 tbsp of oil
- 1 tsp of mustard seeds
- 1 whole red chilli
Procedure :
- Cut the tomatoes in cubes.
- In hot-oil, add urad dal, jeera, green chili, garlic, red chili, and saute for about 30 seconds.
- Then add tomatoes, let it cook for 10 minutes until it becomes mush.
- Let it cool and then grind it after grinding it temper it.
