
Rasam is Indian Soup, which is full of antioxidants and also helps like a medicine to deal with flu like symptoms. Helps a lot if you are trying to lose weight. Above all, the taste of Plum Rasam is absolutely divine. Try and let me know.
Ingredients :
- 5 cups of water
- 5-6 plums, chopped and deseeded.
- 1 chopped tomato
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp rasam powder
- 1 tsp tamarind paste
- ¼ cup chopped coriander
For Tempering:
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- ½ tsp fenugreek seeds
- few curry leaves
- 1 tbsp oil
- 3 red chillies
Procedure :
- Boil the water with chopped plums, tomato, salt & pepper till they are mushy then grind it.
- Take the above paste and add a cup of water. It should be thin and runny. Add rest of the spices and let it boil.
- For tempering, heat oil and add rest of the ingredients, let mustard seeds splutter then pour over the boiling rasam.
- Rasam is great with hot steamed rice.

If you want to make your own Rasam Powder
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Coriander seeds
- 1 cup black pepper corns
- 4tbsp cumin
- 8-9 dry Mirchi
- ½cup Toor dal
- ½cup Chana dal
- pinch of Asafoetida
- few curry leaves
Dry roast all above ingredients and grind to make powder. Can be stored in fridge in airtight container upto 6 months.
