
Making small amounts of pickles is interesting and easy. You can finish it before you get bored. Homemade pickles are much better than store bought pickles because of their taste and they have less amounts of sodium and preservatives. So try this easy recipe.
Ingredients :
- 6-7 amla
- 1 tsp mustard
- ½ tsp Asafoetida (hing)
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp chilli powder
- ⅓ cup Sesame oil
Ingredients for masala :
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp fenugreek
- 1 tsp fennel
Directions :
- Steam the amlas for 10 minutes.
- Once amlas are cool, remove the seed.
- Prepare the masala by dry roasting all the ingredients of masala and then grind it,
- In a pan, heat oil, add mustard, and asafoetida let it splutter.
- Add amlas saute for a minute. Switch off the stove.
- Add salt, chilli powder,turmeric powder and prepared masala. Mix well.
- For more than one or two days, store in the refrigerator.
